“Not-so-little” One

This is an odd stage of

Motherhood

A different level of

Requirement

One of presence but just for supervision

Not a helicopter but some provision

Of safety.

Watching, witnessing

Every so often a check in

Sometimes playing with

Mostly looking on

As they stretch those

Invisible heart strings

To their limits, but mostly mine

Of how much I can

Let them go
