Weaning

My nipples are retiring soon

They gave their 2 week notice

I don't know why, I've treated them

With all respect and poultice

True, there's been some tugging

Lots of sucking and some biting

But also gentle squeezes

And some touch much more exciting

But now they want a different life

That's a bit less exposed

And gives them time to heal in peace

For all the work they've done--

I'll grant that I suppose
